Courthouse News Service: Torture of Gay Immigration Prisoners Alleged

The U.N. Special Rappoteur on Torture, Juan Mendez, issued a report stating that the abuse suffered by detained gay and transgender immigrants in the U.S. government's custody amounts to torture. NIJC exposed the abuse in its multi-individual complaint submitted to the Office of Civil Rights and Civil Liberties on behalf of LGBT individuals in immigration detention.
