Calling all legal volunteers- attorneys and law students- the Chicago immigrant community needs your support!
NIJC is partnering with the Hispanic Lawyers Association of Illinois (HLAI) and Chicago Community Colleges to provide community-based clinics that screen Chicago residents for immigration relief.
Clinics will be hosted at Daley College and Truman College. Volunteers will be expected to conduct 1-2 intakes per clinic and interpreters will be available to assist if needed.
All volunteers are required to participate in the training either in-person, via webinar or by watching the recording to be posted after 02/13. The training will be Thursday, February 13, 2020 from 12:30 - 1:30 at NIJC, 224 S. Michigan Ave. Ste 600, Chicago, IL 60604. CLE is available for in-person attendance at the training only.
This is a one-time volunteer opportunity; attorneys will not be expected to represent any client for whom they conduct a screening.
RSVP is required.
