What You Need to Know: Information on Requesting Prosecutorial Discretion
In August 2011, the White House announced that the Department of Justice and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will review 300,000 cases to determine whether to pursue removal. The administration will focus its resources on high priority cases to promote public safety and national security and use prosecutorial discretion to temporarily suspend removal in low priority cases.
