New DHS Worksite Enforcement Policy a Step in the Right Direction; Further Progress Needed

For the DHS Worksite Enforcement Policy to be representative of American ideals of fairness and justice, further progress and full protections are required to ensure immigrant workers' rights. Specifically, it is incumbent on the government to provide legal protections to ensure the due process and human rights of immigrant workers, regardless of the nature of their arrest.

Chicago Public Radio: Was Immigration Dragnet Too Wide?

Immigration and Customs Enforcement says it has jailed almost 9,000 foreign-born gang members since 2005.

A four-day operation that ended Wednesday targeted immigrants with gang ties in suburbs and towns northwest of Chicago. ICE, as the agency is known, says 42 of the 49 detainees have criminal histories.
