Rumsfeld that struck down the U.S. government's use of military commissions to try Guantanamo detainees, will be the keynote speaker at Heartland Alliance’s National Immigrant Justice Center’s 11th Annual Midwest Light of Human Rights Awards on Friday, June 4, 2010, at the Fairmont Chicago Hotel, 200 North Columbus Drive.

Heartland Alliance’s National Immigrant Justice Center is pleased to announce the honorees for the 10th Annual Midwest Light of Human Rights Awards. The honorees are Luol Deng of the Chicago Bulls, James A. Morsch of Butler Rubin Saltarelli & Boyd LLP, and Winston & Strawn LLP.

Heartland Alliance's National Immigrant Justice Center is honored to welcome António Guterres, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, as the keynote speaker for the Tenth Annual Midwest Light of Human Rights Awards. The luncheon is expected to draw more than 700 guests from Chicago's legal, business, and philanthropic community. A benefit for the National Immigrant Justice Center, the event recognizes our region's human rights workers and celebrates the contributions of civic, business, and philanthropic leaders in promoting human rights.
