Representing Asylum Seekers Training

On Thursday, February 28, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., NIJC will conduct a training for pro bono attorneys interested in representing detained and non-detained asylum seekers.  Part of this training will focus specifically on the issues that arise when representing detained asylum seekers, but attorneys interested in representing non-detained asylum seekers will also find the training useful.  Illinois CLE credit will be available.  For more information about the training or to register, please contact Michelle Bezner at

Attorneys who are unable to attend the training in person can participate via webinar.  Register for the webinar here. Please note that CLE credit is only available to attorneys who attend the training in person.

NIJC requires that pro bono attorneys attend a training before or shortly after accepting an asylum case for representation and strongly encourages attorneys to attend an in-person training.
