The film is directed by Guatemalan filmmaker Luis Argueta, who received an Oscar nomination for his film The Silence of Neto, and is co-produced by Vivian Rivas.

Argueta and Rivas also are producing a multimedia archive documenting the raid:

In addition to the film, abUSed - The Postville Raid Archives is an audio-visual collection of the interviews recorded in the making of the documentary that will preserve the voices of the victims and witnesses of the events of May 12, 2008. Recorded in the communities of Postville, Iowa and Calderas, Dueñas, El Rosario and Parramos, Guatemala, these interviews will serve as the collective memory of a paradigmatic event on the quest for humane and comprehensive immigration reform in the United States.
